I have been looking at the data sheet. But you have it as a ‘0’. I had goofed up the SPI frequency to be given to the accelerometer. Let me see whether if I give delay after write it will help. Thank you both for replying.

There are a few things: Please do not post bug Reports on this forum. It shows that for a read operation the first bit out the MSB is supposed to be a ‘1’ bit. I have tried a few different settings for the 0x20 and 0x21 register. Not sure if this applies to your chip also. All times are GMT – 6 Hours. It shows that the clock SPC idles at a high level and does a positive transition in the middle of each data cell.
